Hawaii 5-0 and the Actor

Sometimes I even work!

This Friday, April 24th, I will appear in an episode of Hawaii 5-0. So, if you like high definition shots of Hawaii, handsome cops solving murder cases, and me, check it out! It’s on the big network with the giant eye logo. CBS, I think it’s called.

Thanks so much for taking the time to say such nice things. I watch the show, too, for the same reason. In fact, when I shot that episode, Alex O’Loughlin said I was the only Los Angeles based actor who had been on the show who actually watched it. Pretty funny. And yes, I get the Tom Hanks comparison all the time, which I have no problem with because it keeps me working in commercials. I have never met Mr. Hanks, but I’m actually a friend of his brother Jimmy, who is a really cool and funny guy.

More importantly, I’m so sorry for your pain. You know I am a chronic pain sufferer, and I sympathize greatly. I honestly wish I could take it away from you, like that guy in The Green Mile (if you saw that Tom Hanks picture.) Best I can do is offer an ear, or eyes I guess, if you want to email me at info@toddrobertanderson.com. I am always looking for fellow sufferers to commune with. It can be pretty lonely for me, given how few people in my life can actually relate to this cross I have to bear.

It’s been so long since I wrote on this blog, I had to dig up my old password so I could respond, but I really can’t thank you enough for reaching out.

I am an actor living in Los Angeles (as many actors seem to be.) I’ve appeared on such television shows as CSI, Will & Grace, Bones, Judging Amy, The Guardian, and Clueless. I’ve also appeared in such feature films as Blast from the Past, Adam & Steve, National Lampoon presents Repli-Kate, and the modern American classic, Devil in the Flesh 2. And if that isn’t enough for you, I’ve been in more than sixty national commercials, including a Superbowl spot that was voted most popular of the year. I have written a book called Don’t Act: 101 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t which I am premiering right here on this blog. I’m also working on a horror novel called The Last Road Trip which I hope to self publish early next year (unless someone wants to pay me for the privelege of publishing it, which I am open to.) I just watched that “Hawaii 5-0” episode. I’m binge watching season 5. I don’t know why. I guess it’s a childhood comfort thing and lately I need a little of that. I’m so tired and so much pain. I read your earlier post, so I think it’s okay to mention that.

Anyway, I was admiring your interrogation scene. Really nice, in a scary way. The transformation from grieving son to cold blooded killer was exceptional.

I was thinking as I was watching the interrogation scene that there was something about you that reminded me of Tom Hanks. The voice or the syntax . . . something. There was even enough of a resemblance that made me think son or nephew. Maybe that seems silly but I thought it possible and I was curious enough to Google you. But, alas, no ties to the Hanks family.

Never sent an email or message of any kind to a complete stranger before. Hope it’s not too creepy. Just wanted to say “nice work”.
